Council rejects DJWH board appointments

CLINTON — The Clinton City Council, on Monday, rejected two appointments to fill vacancies on the Dr. John Warner Hospital board of directors. City commissioners said email communications they received about issues with the board played a part in their decisions.

The board voted 3-2 against appointing Karren Osborne and Brian Ennis to fill longstanding vacancies on the hospital board. While the commissioners voting against the appointments said they had no objections to Osborne’s and Ennis’ appointments, they said they would vote “no” until they had more information about possible turmoil involving the hospital board and mayor Carolyn Peters.
