CLINTON — On Tuesday night, the Clinton Board of Education agreed to withdraw from the Okaw Valley Conference (OVC) and join a new conference.
Clinton was recently extended an invitation to join the five schools that wanted to leave the OVC. Membership was also extended to Argenta Orenea, Decatur St. Theresa and Tuscola to create a nine-team conference.
“Clinton can not be without a conference,” said Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Holmes, who believes the schools leaving the OVC are doing so because of football. “I don’t think it’s good for our kids (to be without a conference).”
