CLINTON — The county board voted to contract with Patrick Engineering to review any proposed modifications to Clinton Landfill. The vote came during the board’s regular September meeting, held on Thursday.
The board’s land use committee chairman Terry Ferguson said the state’s attorney’s office reviewed the contract.
“This is a process that has taken several months,” Ferguson said. “I think it’s probably a good demonstration of why we need to have somebody on retainer, ready to go just in case one of the modifications seems serious enough to have outside review.”
Review of landfill modifications stems out of the ongoing battle over a pending chemical waste permit for which the landfill’s owner Peoria Disposal Company applied. For the complete article see the 09-25-2012 issue.
