Things are poppin’ with local scouts

Posted: Tuesday, Nov 13th, 2012

CLINTON — How much popcorn do you suppose a local scout pack could sell? This year, Pack 142 of the Boy Scouts sold $16,000 worth of popcorn to area residents …and that was the pack’s second best year ever. “What we do as a pack is really phenomenal,” said Don Lukach, scouting charter liaison to Pack 142. Money raised from popcorn sales made it possible for the pack to purchase a new, electronically timed track for its annual Pinewood Derby races, used for the first time last year.
