CLINTON — The Clinton City Council approved on Monday an upgrade to the computer that operates the water plant.
“…We have a computer that runs the water plant, and if it’s not running, then they have to run it by hand,” said commissioner John Wise. “It’s quite an extensive start up and shut down procedure.”
The council already authorized the purchase of a new computer for the plant.
“We were under the assumption that the new computer and all the hardware, everything would go in …and everything work just like it should,” Wise said. “Well, it never goes that way.”
Wise said there were some glitches in the system and that personnel were still working on remedies to the problem. He also said he learned that an upgrade was necessary that also involved the system’s Ethernet connection. For the complete article see the 11-20-2012 issue.
