CLINTON – The Clinton City Council on Monday approved emergency repairs to a Clinton Fire Department vehicle. The department uses the Chevrolet Suburban for a variety of purposes.
Personnel took the vehicle to the dealership to investigate an oil leak, reported commissioner of public health and safety Jerry Milton. Milton said technicians discovered worn parts connected to the steering that needed to be replaced.
“The Suburban is used for mutual aid …for hauling air tanks to working fires,” Milton said. “So, …we have a situation where we need to go ahead.”
Milton said the problem with the vehicle was severe enough that technicians would not permit it to be driven away. Some of the parts needing replaced included tie rod ends and idler arms, as commissioner John Wise read from motion. For the complete article see the 03-06-2013 issue.
