Posted: Friday, Aug 16th, 2013

CLINTON ó The popular Pigs on Parade contest will return this year as part of the DeWitt County Museumís annual Apple ní Pork Festival, held in September.

Plywood cutouts of the porkers will be available to individuals or groups who wish to decorate a pig using paint and attachments to create a whimsical entry.

The plywood pigs will be furnished free of charge and will be available for pick up from the museum from August 15-August 29. There will be a limit of one pig per family or group and no reservations will be accepted by phone calls.

Contestants use durable paint, and all attachments need to be firmly secured. The pigs will be judged based on originality, durability and creativity. Completed pigs are to be returned to the museum for judging September 20-23.

Prizes will be awarded. First prize to the Grand Champion will be $50 and Reserve Champion will receive $25. All other entries will receive $5, and all entries will become the property of the museum.
