Seven-on-seven game signals coming of football season

Yes, folks, it's that time
of year again.  Baseball and softball are waning for the summer, the soccer craze is dying down, and the 5/10 K road races are  dwindling. 
Time has arrived for that rough and tumble American version of rugby and soccer combined into our game called "football."

Clinton Y Team 3 takes the loss against the Raiders

CLINTON -- On a cool, damp July 2 evening, Clinton Y team #3 (self nicknamed the "Lemons" for their yellow shirts) took on the "Raiders" of Central A & M team #1.  The major rains didn't fall until the game ended, however, the intermittent drizzle during the game made it difficult for the pitchers to control the ball.

CLINTON -- The Clinton Maroons 10U team returned to their home field on Monday to face the Mahomet Maverick 10U team for two games.
