CHS girls open season with pair of wins

WILLIAMSVILLE — The Clinton Lady Maroons basketball team went 2-0 for the season this week, overwhelming Springfield Calvary 56-18 in the Riverton / Williamsville Early Bird Review.

Clinton took an early 16-5 lead, extending that to 32-6 by halftime. Clinton’s defense was largely responsible for holding Calvary to low scoring.

Morgan Hickman shot a game-high 18 points for Clinton. Megan Toohill scored 10 in the game.
