CLINTON – Leonard G. Scarlett, age 87, of Clinton, Ill. passed away at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, Ill. on July 24, 2010.

A visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Services will begin at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday July 27, 2010, at Calvert Funeral Home. Greg Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow at Camp Butler, Springfield, Ill. with Military Honors.

Leonard was born in Belleville, Kan. on September 1, 1922. He married Virginia L. Harris in April 1994 in Decatur, Ill. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter: Sheila Scarlett, of New Jersey; three sons: Michael (Debbie) Scarlett, of Springfield, Ohio, Randall (Laura) Scarlett, of Kilgore, Tex., John (Tonya) Kates, of Decatur, Ill.; step-daughter: Hope Marie Harris, of Clinton, Ill.; grandchildren: Jennifer Scarlett, Amanda Scarlett, Heather Scarlett, Brittany Scarlett, Kimberly Scarlett, Cindy Scarlett, Crystal Scarlett, Randie M. Loar, Derrick Scnitger, Savannah Kates, Cheyenne Kates, Lara Wallace, Kristen Scarlett, and Greg Scarlett; step grandchildren: Isaac Winebrinner, Melody Winebrinner, Gregory Coins, & Timothy Coins.

He was preceded in deah by his wife: Barbara M. Scarlett; one daughter: Linna Wallace and one granddaughter: Tracey Cameron.

Great-Grandfather of 14.

He was affiliated with Clinton United Methodist Church. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army and Navy during WWII. He was a member of Clinton VFW and AmVets post 14.
