METTER, Ga. – Clara Mae Thompson, age 63, of Metter, Ga., formerly of Clinton, Ill, passed away at Cedar Plantation, Metter, Georgia at 10 a.m. on July 23, 2010.

A visitation will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Calvert Funeral Home. Pastor Dan Bell will officiate. Interment will follow at Baptist Cemetery, Kenney, Ill.

Clara Mae was born in Clinton, Ill. on July 24, 1946, a daughter of Edison E. Cobb and Dorothy Jane Lane. She married John Truman “Jerry” Thompson on July 22, 1966 in Clinton, Ill. John passed away October 24, 2001.

Surviving are one son: Kyle Thompson, of Metter, Georgia; two brothers: James E. Cobb, of Clinton, Ill.; William “Bill” Cobb, of Prescott Valley, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Dan Cobb.
