Sara E. Easton

CLINTON — Sara E. Easton, 76, of Clinton, passed away at 9:07 a.m. on June 17, 2012 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, Ill.

A visitation will not be held. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements. Sara requested no funeral services. Cremation rites were accorded.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Sara was born on June 26, 1935 in Mattoon, Ill., daughter of Roscoe Sparling and Nellie (Tatman) Sparling. She married Robert E. Easton on November 13, 1953 in Toledo, Ill. He survives.

Also surviving are children Michael (Debi) Easton, Clinton, Ill.; Kim (Rob) Easton-Gragg, Clinton, Ill.; Tammy (Ron) Shouse, Clinton, Ill., and Mark and Pearl Humphreys, who they loved as their children; brother Ivan Sparling, Decatur, Ill., and sister Opal (Sid) Manning, Shelbyville, Ill., 11 grandchildren and a great- grandchild on the way.

Her parents and eight siblings preceded her in death.

She was owner / operator of Sara’s Gift Shop, Clinton, for 15 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She lived her life by example and gave meaning to unselfish love, wisdom, courage and character. She affected us all and will forever live in our hearts.
