Kenneth I. ‘Ike’ Burk

CLINTON — Kenneth I. “Ike” Burk, 78, of Clinton, passed away at 9:09 a.m. on February 9, 2013 at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, Ill.
A visitation will not be held. Cremation rites will be accorded. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements. A private family memorial service will be held on Friday, February 15 at Calvert’s, J. Kent Hickerson officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Kenney Fire Department or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Ike was born on July 22, 1934 in Clinton, son of James Burk, Sr. and Elizabeth Clifton. He married Betty A. Burgeron on January 10, 1959 in Berlin, N.H. She survives.
Survivors also include three sons David ( Laura) Burk, Oswego, Ill.; Ron (Linda) Burk, Bloomington, Ill., and Rick (Lucy) Burk, Lancaster, Calif.; one brother Dick (Mary) Burk, Wapella; two sisters Mary (Clark) Eggleston, Missouri, and Jackie (Paul) Parson, Florida; and a half brother K.T. Roberts, Clinton; six grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren.
His parents, two brothers and one half brother preceded him in death.
Ike was U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Revere Copper & Brass, Inc, Clinton, for 38 1/2 years, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching and wildlife.
