CLINTON — Thelma D. Carter, 63, of Clinton, Ill., passed away at 8:55 p.m. on August 9, 2013 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, Ill.
A visitation is scheduled for 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, today, August 13 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvert’s, Rev. Richard Gray and Rev. Spencer McPheron officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Thelma was born on October 4, 1949 in Clinton, daughter of Raymond O. Carter and Bernice F. (Nelson) Carter.
Survivors include children Darla (David) Huston, Clinton, Ill.; Sherrie Strange, Madisonville, Ky.; Tony (Brandi) Carter, Clinton; grandchildren Brandi Crispen, Jeremy Huston, Cody Carter, Bowe Carter, Miranda Strange, and siblings Sharon McGhee, Donna Carter and Vivian (Russell) Crutcher, all of Clinton, Roger (Pat) Carter, Joliet, Ill., and Russell (Bernadine) Carter, Springfield, Ill.
Her longtime companion Francis Wickenhauser, one brother-in-law, one son-in-law and one niece preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle, Heyworth, Ill. She worked many years at the Eureka-Williams Co. Bloomington, Ill. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
