CLINTON — James Marion Polen, 63, of Clinton, Ill., passed away at 2 a.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2013 in Costa Rica.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Clinton Elks Lodge, Monday, October 7, 2013 from 4 p.m to 8 p.m.
Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, Ill. is in charge of arrangements.
James was born July 10, 1950 in Clinton, Ill. a son of Harry Polen and Joan (Stoll) Thoms. He married Nancy Blue, in 1969. He later married Rosa Maria Alvarado Perez, in 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa Maria Alvarado Perez, Clinton, Ill.; mother, Joan Thoms, Clinton, Ill.; father, Harry (Sharon) Polen, Atlanta, Ill.; one son, James Polen Jr., Clinton, Ill.; one daughter, Tisha (Chris) Adams, Littleton, Colo.; grandson, Riley Adams and one granddaughter Harper Adams; four brothers, Phillip Steven (Merlin) Polen, Clinton, Ill.; Scott Polen, Clinton, Ill., Robbie Polen, Bloomington, Ill. and Chad Polen, Atlanta, Ill.
He was preceded in death by one infant son, Todd James Polen, in 1972.
Jim was past Exalted Ruler of the Clinton Elk’s Lodge, previous owner/operator of Polen Excavating, Clinton, Ill. and currently owned Subway’s in Clinton and Paxton, Ill. He was a hard worker and was well liked by many people. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially loved the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. Jim was loved by his family and will be greatly missed by all.
