GLADSTONE, Mo. — Thomas Michael “Mike” Vinson, 6,1 of Gladstone, Mo., formerly of Clinton, Ill., passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at his home. He was in hospice care but lost his battle against COPD.
There will be no formal services. The family will have memorial gatherings at a later date.
Mike was born August 26, 1952, in Clinton Ill.
He is the son of Bonnie and Vernon Vinson. They both proceeded him in death.
He is survived by the woman he shared his life with the past 29 years Patricia ”Trease” Stump and his sister, LaVerne (Dan) Powers, of Lincoln, Calif., and their sons Bryan and Rob.
He is also survived by his brother Vernon “Lumpy” (Susan) Vinson, step-brothers LeBob (Janet) Sloat and Tim Sloat, all of Clinton; his daughters Dusty Vinson, of Washington, Mo., Jamie Glick, of Shelbyville, Ill., and son Justin Barber, of Jefferson City, Mo., and all their children.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his grandparents, two infant sons, his step-mother Pat Vinson and his son Michael.
He previously worked as a switchman/conductor for the ICG Railroad.
Mike loved to go fishing at his favorite lake near his home. He loved music and his two little dogs Frankie and Dolly.
