Darwin "Dob" Howry

CLINTON — Darwin “Dob” Howry, 99, of Clinton, passed away at 8 p.m. on June 29, 2012 at his family home.

A visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. on Monday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Services will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday at Calvert’s, J. Kent Hickerson officiating.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

Memorials may be made to the Little Galilee Christian Assembly, Weldon Springs Foundation or a memorial of the donor’s choice.

Darwin was born on March 30, 1913 in Graham, Texas, son of Rufas Jackson Howry and Kate (Paschal) Howry. He married Jean Jandrew on March 25, 1956 in Vernal, Utah. She survives.

Also surviving are children Kelly (Debbie) Howry, Clinton; Karen (Stuart) Campbell, Cary, N.C.; Kay (Tim) Bostwick, Hendersonville, Tenn., Koni (Ken) Lovett, Clinton, and grandchildren and great grandchildren Travis, Kelsey, Allie, Jordan, Connor, Spencer, Tyler, Taysha, Tanner, Reese and Sadie, and Betsy Maddox.

His parents, one brother Jesse Howry and one sister Lucille “Boots” Hart preceded him in death.

He was a superintendent of the oil fields northeast of Wapella from its beginning in 1962. He retired in 1984 at age 71. He enjoyed camping, traveling and being with his family and recently danced at his 99th birthday surrounded by his entire family and friends.
