CLINTON — There currently is not a restriction on water use in Clinton, commissioner John Wise clarified during Monday’s city council meeting.
Car wash owner Kelly Riggs addressed the council on Monday with concerns that the school district was watering sports fields during the current drought.
“I was asked twice this week at the car wash how we were still running if there is a concern about the water,” Riggs said. “And, I noticed that we’re still watering football fields, baseball fields and practice fields and the roque park.”
Riggs asked if there were the possibility the city would run low on water and if car washes would be required to close.
At the July 3 city council meeting, commissioner John Wise asked residents to not water their lawns if it were not necessary, but he did not place a restriction on water usage.
