CLINTON — “Wow, I’m completely floored by this,” was the reaction of Danville cross-country coach Craig Barth. His comments to staff at Clinton Junior High School was in response to CJHS cross-country athletes’ donation of more than $1,000 to help a North Ridge Middle School runner.
North Ridge eighth grade student runner MacKenzie Hummer was fighting cancer. She is a client of Friends of Kids with Cancer, a St. Louis-based group.
Clinton cross-country team members felt that, since the team had benefited from work done by the Clinton Boosters Club, athletes wanted to pass along some good work of their own. So, the fundraising began to help Hummer.For the complete article see the 10-26-2012 issue.
