Change in members could affect debate
on landfill, animal shelter
CLINTON — Six new members will be seated on the DeWitt County Board after the results of the November 6 election, and another board member will return after losing a bid for reelection in 2008.
The large shift in the board seats could change future debate about the permit pending that would allow Clinton Landfill to expand its chemical waste unit. The change also could alter discussion about the proposed new animal shelter.
