CLINTON — A coin toss in the county clerk’s office Monday determined the outcome of a race for a seat on the DeWitt County Board.
Following the November 6 election, a race between Republican incumbent Terry Ferguson and Independent candidate George Wissmiller resulted in Ferguson’s apparent victory by a single vote. But a certification requrested of the votes turned out to be enough to result in the seventh new member headed for the county board when the newly elected board is convened.
