CLINTON — The Clinton City Council, on Monday, placed on file three items that make up a plan to offer online bill payment to residents. Council members considered the plan beneficial to residents and to the city.
“The Mediacom agreement; that’s the one that’s been holding us up,” city treasurer Clint Lichtenwalter told the council. Lichtenwalter said to have the capability to offer the option for residents to pay bills online, the city system needed a static IP address (Internet Protocol address). This required Mediacom to consider the City of Clinton a business customer. Originally, Mediacom did not distinguish between residential, business and government customers.
Residents will be able to logon to the city Web site, view their accounts in real time and pay their bills online. For the complete article see the 01-08-2013 issue.
