DeWitt man arrested in fatal car accident

DEWITT — The DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle at around 11:17 p.m.. on January 19, in the Village of DeWitt.  

Duane R. Boyer, 72, of Dewitt, was arrested for aggravated DUI following the collision, which occurred near the intersection of Bloomington and Franklin Streets in DeWitt. Witnesses at the scene reported that 38-year-old Cathrine K. Kohl, of Bloomington, was struck by Boyer’s vehicle.  She was pronounced dead at Dr. John Warner Hospital, in Clinton.
