CLINTON — Louise (Lape) Archey, 99, of Clinton, passed away at 2:44 a.m. on January 15, 2013 at Manor Court, Clinton.
A visitation will be held today, Friday, from 1-2:30 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Calvert’s, J. Kent Hickerson officiating.
A private, graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the Dr. John Warner Hospital Foundation.
Louise was born on September 2, 1913 in Shelbyville, daughter of John H. Lape and Leota M. (Fisher) Lape. She married Gloyd E. Archey on April 1, 1938. He passed away on January 16, 1968.
Survivors include son Gary G. (Sandy) Archey, Clinton, and two step-daughters Helen Ann (Max) Williams and Doris (Dean) Rothrock, both of Shelbyville, five grandchildren, five great- grandchildren and one great- great- grandchild.
Her parents, daughter (and husband) Jan Kay (Charles D.) Bell, two brothers and one grandson preceded her in death.
During her many years, she worked in the Maroa school cafeteria, Clinton High School office, Wallace Press, Fitzgerald Jewelry, Love’s Clothing Store and “Dis n Dat.” Louise loved being with family and valued her many friends of all ages. Over the years, she enjoyed collecting antiques.
