LINCOLN — The 3-seed Clinton Junior High School boys’ basketball team took on the 6-seed Rochester Rockets Monday in the Lincoln Regionals, defeating the Rockets 43-36.
A close game throughout, Clinton and Rochester were tied 8-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Rockets eventually carried a 19-17 lead going in to halftime.
Clinton came out shooting after halftime, scoring the first four points of the third quarter and performed on defense, keeping Rockets’ scoring down.
“I told the team at halftime, if we box out and keep them out of the paint, we will win the game,” said coach Curtis Conrady, “And that is exactly what we did.”
