DECATUR — Clinton and Maroa Forsyth’s ladies basketball teams are very familiar with each other, besides living in neighboring towns on Highway 51; they had already played each other twice this year.
Clinton won both previous meetings but remembered the Lady Trojans knocked them out of last year’s postseason and knew it wouldn’t be an easy task beating them for the third time. The third game would take place for the regional championship at St.Teresa High School, Thursday night.
The anxiety was evident early with both team’s turning the ball over and trading the ball back and forth without a score for the first three minutes of the game. Haley Ginger started the party off with a three-point basket, and Haley Toohill would add another a minute and a half later with Megan Tool including another inside of one minute left to give the Maroons an 11-5 lead after the fisrt quarter. For the complete article see the 02-12-2013 issue.
