CLINTON — Bettie Joyce (Rich) Anderson, 82, of Clinton, passed away at 11:40 p.m. on February 26, 2013 at her family residence.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 1 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the First Christian Church, Clinton, J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Interment will be at Mausoleum Park Cemetery, Clinton.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Clinton, or the American Cancer Society.
Bettie was born on March 18, 1930 in Clinton, daughter of James Rich and Liza Jane “Janie” (Privett) Rich. She married Wesley R. Anderson on March 28, 1948 in Clinton. He survives.
Survivors also include children Sherrie (George) Pasenelli, Phoeix, Ariz.; Bradley (Alecia) Anderson, Heyworth, Ill.; Kimberly (Terry) Nevill, Maroa, Ill.; five grandchildren Hillary (Gene) Hagerty, Stroudsburg, Pa.; John Wesley Nevill, Maroa, Ill.; Linday Marie, Wesley Preston and Courtney Jayne Anderson, all of Heyworth, Ill.; two great- grandchildren Zachary and Ashley Hagerty, Stroudsburg, Pa., and siblings James (Mabel) Rich, Jr., Clinton, and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Bettie was a member of the First Christian Church, Clinton. She was a homemaker, and her husband farmed in the Weldon area for more than 40 years. He retired from farming, and they moved to Clinton. Bettie was a rural mail carrier for 16 years. She enjoyed singing in the First Christian Church choir, was an active Young at Heart member and organized food for funeral dinners at the church. Bettie was a fun loving person and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She will be missed by all of us.
