4-H Woodworking

Posted: Wednesday, Mar 6th, 2013

On February 23, DeWitt County 4-Hers took part in a Woodworking Workshop at University of Illinois Extension Office in Clinton.  Eleven 4-H members pulled out their hammers and saws to create a Civil War bench.  Members had an opportunity to cut out all of the pieces of the bench and then assembled their project.  Lessons were given on safety, measuring and how to finish their project. 4-H members may choose to display the bench at this year’s 4-H fain in July.  A special thanks to Jeff Spencer for organizing the workshop, Duane Runyon for assisting, and to all the parents who helped out the 4-H members.

4-H Members attending

Aiden Soliday, Jake Franklin, Robert Pakidis, Kinser Wargel, Dezera Baker, David Loveless, Ethan Aughenbaugh, Samantha Loveless, Gavin Graybeal, Mason Holt.
