SPRINGFIELD ó Laura H. Koritz, 58, of Springfield, died at 11:18 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at her home.
Laura was born July 14, 1954 in Pontiac, the daughter of Stow E. and Ethel Van Ort Symon. She married Ronald L. Koritz on August 29, 1992 in Springfield.
Laura attended Pontiac Township High School and graduated from Southeast High School in Springfield. She attended Lincoln Land Community College and received her bachelorís degree in Marketing from Western Illinois University. She was actively employed by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois until her disability in 1998. Laura was a member of Lakeside Christian Church and participated in the MS Society. She enjoyed spending time with her daughter, antique shopping, collecting dachshunds and horse figurines, and reading the newspaper. She was also an avid Cubs fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Springfield; daughter, Patricia Kortiz of Springfield; two brothers, Phillip (wife, Natalie) Symon of North Royalton, OH and Randolph S. (wife, Elanys) Symon of Trenton, OH; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following the visitation.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Memorial Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. John Morrisette officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
