DECATUR — David Robert Hedgcock, 56, passed away at 12:40 p.m. on May 26, 2013 at Symphony of Decatur, Decatur, Ill.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 31, at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Calvert’s, Chaplain Jan Dial, DMH Hospice, officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton.
Memorials may be made to the David Robert Hedgcock memorial fund.
David was born on May 25, 1957 in Urbana, Ill., son of W. Robert Hedgcock and Naomi Ruth Harner. David never married.
Survivors include his father, stepmother Joan Hedgcock, Decatur; brothers Ronald (Shelli) Hedgcock, Crystal Lake, Ill., and Todd Hedgcock, Marengo, Ill.; nephew Ronald Hedgcock, Crystal Lake, Ill., and niece Sarah Hedgcock, Crystal Lake, Ill.
His mother preceded him in death.
David graduated from Clinton High School in 1975 and from the University of Illinois. He taught English as a second language in eight countries around the world for 25 years. He was an avid supporter of Ron Paul for President and believed in Constitutional government. The family thanks the staff of Symphony of Decatur, Cancer Care of Decatur and DMH Hospice for the care he received.
