CLINTON — Well, not exactly, but what goes into the bins will make things better for the fish and Weldon Springs, in general.
University of Illinois environmental sciences major Luke Zocher was responsible for a project that will help keep the shoreline of Weldon Springs lake a lot cleaner. Site interpreter Carol Thompson asked the Monticello college student to build some recycling containers for fisherman to deposit their damaged and used fishing line. Most fishing line is a single, or monofilament, strand made of plastic. The containers will keep the line out of the lake and surrounding area.For the complete article see the 10-18-2013 issue.
