School board learns about proposed tax increase

CLINTON During a special meeting Monday night, the Clinton Board of Education and a small turnout of community members listened to a presentation from Kevin Heid of Stifel/Nicolaus, a brokerage and investment banking firm, about a 1 percent sales tax that can be used only for school facility purposes. This includes new school buildings or renovations, security or other maintenance issues. The funds may not be used for salaries, textbooks or transportation.
