CROP Walk raises more than $5,000 during recent event

CLINTON — The recent United Methodist Church CROP Walk raised over $5,000 to help people in need in local communities and through Church World Service (CWS) of over 40 denominations

Don Ferrill’s Farmer City/Weedman UMC event had eight walkers, and Clinton had 34. The FC/Weedman walkers raised more than $3,000, while Clinton walkers raised more than $2,000, and still counting.

CWS is ranked as one of the most effective charities in the U.S., with 96 percent of funds raised goin to areas of greatest need.

The local organization thanked Ruth Gholson, C. Don Ferrill, Jeanette Ferguson, Charolotte Holland and the Clinton Police Dept.
