CLINTON — Herbert R. Eveland, 84, of Clinton, Ill., passed away at 11:40 a.m. on November 9, 2013 at his family residence.
A visitation will not be held. The family has entrusted Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with arrangements. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, today, November 15, at the First Baptist Church, Clinton, Pastor John Roberson officiating.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the First Baptist Church Philippine Project.
Herbert was born on May 16, 1929 in Evansville, Ind., son of Millard Eveland and Florence (Helton) Eveland. He married Dorothy M. Moore on July 30, 1949 in Colorado Springs, Colo. She passed away on July 3, 2007.
Survivor include children Paul (Kathy) Eveland, Lehigh, Fla.; Peter (Kim) Eveland, Crystal City, Mo.; Helen Eveland, Rock Ledge, Fla.; Karen (Brian) Stanek, Jerusalem, Israel; Nancy (Gary) Neathery, Lane, Ill., and Donna Eveland, Trenton, Fla.; brother Ted (Betty) Eveland, Boca Raton, Fla.; 23 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
His parents, one son Thomas, one grandson, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Herbert was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was an electrician and the owner/operator of Eveland Electric.
