LEESBURG, Fla. — Cotus “Coty” Eugene Hutchinson, formerly of Clinton, Ill. and Fulton County, Ind., passed away at 2:28 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2013, in Florida.
Coty was born on April 24, 1959, in Rochester, Ind., son of Cotus L. and Judith Ann (Middaugh) Hutchinson. He graduated from Caston High School, in 1977, and served with the U.S. Navy, during which he received the Battle E Ribbon and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
Hutchinson owned and operated the Hot Spot tavern, in Clinton, retiring in 2011. He was a member of the VFW Post 4168 and the American Legion Post 103, both in Clinton. He enjoyed playing darts, watching NASCAR and was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Cubs.
Survivors include his son Brady Hutchinson, Leesburg, Fla.; father Cotus Leroy Hutchinson, Rochester, Ind.; friend Dawn Carroll, Leesburg, Fla.; sister Pam Clay and husband Kim, Rochester, Ind.; five brothers David Hutchinson, Rochester, Ind.; Tim Hutchinson and wife Kimmy, Fulton, Ind,; Charles Hutchinson and wife Bianca, Eugene, Ore.; Steven Hutchinson, Dandridge,, Tenn., and Shaun Hutchinson, Rochester, Ind., several nieces and nephews. His mother Judith Hutchinson preceded him in death on October 30, 2010.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, at Akron Cemetery, Fulton County Road 1075 East, Akron, where military services will be conducted by the Fulton County Veterans Honor Guard.
