WAPELLA — The Wapella Village Board is considering incorporating yearly employee bonuses into its employee manual. Individual bonuses would likely not exceed $100.
Trustees discussed paying the bonuses either at the end of each calendar year or on employees’ service anniversary dates. Village board president Rich Karr said trustees would need to plan a time to meet to rewrite the employee manual.
“It (bonuses) should probably be in the manual,” said trustee Brad Karr.
Rich Karr said he thought the $100 bonus amount was “too narrow.”
“If we want to give them, say $112, so they could take home $100, we would have to revisit it,” he said. “Let’s leave out the ‘not to exceed’ part.”For the complete article see the 02-21-2014 issue.
