Council hears from medical marijuana company reps

Posted: Wednesday, Aug 20th, 2014

CLINTON — Representatives of Salveo Health & Wellness addressed the city council Monday about their plans to apply for a medical marijuana license for a site in DeWitt County. One such site will be permitted in Illinois State Police District 6, of which Clinton and DeWitt County is a part.

Chicago attorney Alex Thiersch and Clinton native Terry Cray attended Monday’s council meeting to outlines their company’s plans. Salveo has secured a building just east of Clinton in DeWitt County, where the medical marijuana growing facility would be located if approved as the single District 6 location. The medical marijuana growing plan in Illinois is a three-year pilot program made possible by legislation enacted at the beginning of 2014.
